Pyrotec , founded in 1966, is a privately owned South African company specialising in providing product identification solutions. With a rich history spanning over five decades, the company's expertise has been handed down from one generation to the next. Pyrotec operates under two distinct brands: Pyrotec PackMark: This division offers a comprehensive range of equipment and consumables for labeling, coding, printing, and applying labels. Pyrotec PackMedia: Focused on innovation, this branch designs and manufactures state-of-the-art promotional and informational booklet labels. The company's headquarters is located in Cape Town, and it boasts a strong presence with centers strategically situated across various regions in South Africa, including the Western Cape, Mpumalanga, KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng, and the Eastern Cape. Pyrotec also extends its reach through a network of distributors in countries such as Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Swaziland, Mozambique, and Lesotho.

Each year, Pyrotec awards bursaries to deserving students, particularly those studying within the following fields of study: Electrical Engineering Industrial Engineering Mechanical Engineering Finance Graphic Design/ DTP Psychology Marketing Sales The bursary will cover the following expenses: tuition fees, registration fees, accommodation (single room at university hostel) and an annual allowance of maximum R10 000 for textbooks.
